Partner presentation:

The German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence GmbH (DFKI) is Europe’s largest research facility for artificial intelligence and a leader in applied research in computer science. The range of services extends from application-oriented basic research to the customer-oriented development of technologies or product functions. The strong emphasis on knowledge transfer has led to DFKI being the German research center with the highest spin-off rate. Since its foundation by Prof. Dr. h.c. mult. August-Wilhelm Scheer, the Institute for Information Systems (IWi) under the direction of Prof. Dr. Peter Loos has already successfully completed more than 200 research and industrial projects. The current focus is on the research areas Business Process Management, Business Integration Technology, E-Government and Lifelong Learning, whereby the IWi is engaged in applied research in Business Process Management as well as Education and Knowledge Management.

Role in the project:

DFKI’s objective is the data-driven analysis of business models with the inclusion of multimodal context data. The latter accrue over the entire product life cycle, from product planning, through the production process, to product use. The resulting data is to be used to develop new business models or to uncover effects on aspects of existing business models and to make adjustments.
