Working meeting on Industrial Data Science in Kaiserslautern (AKKORD Joint Research Project).

On November 4th and 5th, 2019, the project consortium of 14 partners from industry and research met in Kaiserslautern to further develop the service platform. In addition to identifying requirements and solution approaches, several workshops also provided impetus for the development of micro-learning courses for industrial data analysis.

At the 2nd consortium meeting, the hosts VPE (Chair of Virtual Product Development, TU Kaiserslautern) and the company Arend Automation welcomed 36 participants from the project partners to the engineering 4.0 lab in Kaiserslautern. In the spirit of a working meeting, the partners worked in dynamic groups to further develop the service platform. On the one hand, requirements for analysis modules and dashboards to be created, the data backend system required for this, the development of data analysis competencies and data-driven business models were identified in four World Cafés. On the other hand, concrete implementation strategies for the technical realization of the platform were discussed in workshops, and core topics for micro-learning courses to be developed for industrial data analysis were prioritized and the development of course content was initiated.
A guest presentation by the company Arxum on the topic of “Blockchain” and the associated potential for data-driven collaborations and business models rounded off the meeting.

The IPS team is already looking forward to the third consortium meeting in spring 2020 at the hosts DFKI and Neocosmo in Saarbrücken!
