Fourth Consortium Meeting in the AKKORD Project with focus on the four research areas

A fourth consortium meeting was held between the first two milestone meetings. Due to the Covid pandemic, the partners met in a web conference in this case as well.

The 4th consortium meeting in the AKKORD joint project focused on the contents of the individual work packages. In addition, PolyMerge GmbH introduced itself to the AKKORD consortium. The company from Bavaria will join the AKKORD project from 2021 after the departure of Brabant & Lehnert. The machine manufacturer from the plastics welding sector will implement a Use Case in which various influencing parameters on the welding process are to be analyzed. The aim is to develop artificial intelligence to avoid rejects in the process.

The consortium meeting focused on the elaboration of the contents of the reference kit in the individual service areas in the four main work packages. DFKI was able to present a concept as well as the first technical implementation of a model for business model adaptation, FdT was able to present detailed results in the form of a demonstration of the learning platform. This represents the foundation of the AKKORD platform and is an important step towards overcoming the barriers that exist in practice when dealing with data analytic projects. IPS, RapidMiner, VPE und Contact were able to deliver the next steps in the elaboration of the building blocks for data access as well as data pre-processing and analysis. The meeting concluded with a first insight into the initial phase of the implementation of the reference building block by the VPE as well as organizational coordination required by the project situation, which was also influenced by the Covid pandemic.

The consortium is pleased about the future entry of PolyMerge and is looking forward to the further course of the project despite all circumstances.
